EPISODE SPOTLIGHTS
Since the last newsletter, we were honored to speak with Ted McGreer from Ted’s Shoe & Sport along with Alan Stroshine who is the race director of the Clarence DeMar Marathon. We also got the opportunity to LIVE STREAM from Ted's at Friday's bib-pickup! Make sure you tune into both of these September shows to hear about Alan & Ted’s excellent adventures.
Ep 255 - Ted McGreer: Ted’s entrepreneurial spirit is a wonderful takeaway from this conversation. When setting up Ted’s Shoe & Sport in Keene, NH, the business world threw him hanging curve balls which he belted out of the park. Ted discussed how being flexible, hard working, & persistent led him to his success. His entrepreneurial passion is also evident due to his push to buy from your local running stores. Keep your ears open for the many business insights that Ted shares. After listening, ride your Heelys over to Ted’s Shoe & Sport to say hello, pick up your next pair of shoes, and inquire when the next “Stampede” run will be :-)
Ep 256 - Alan Stroshine: Alan shared all the details he encountered as the race director for the Clarence DeMar Marathon dating back to the 1980’s. With 40+ states & many countries now represented in the race, Alan and his team have their hands full with this popular event. His outreach into the Keene, NH community is at multiple levels. A wonderful element of the marathon is the Kids DeMar summertime running program. The children complete their final mile of the program starting at the 25th mile of the marathon leading them to the finish line to earn a medal. Then, they hang around with their families to cheer on the finishers of both the half and full marathon. A Super Senior group (70+ years young) also participate in this final mile event. After listening to Alan, you’ll be motivated to sign up for future Clarence DeMar half or full marathons!
Ep 257 - LIVE from Clarence DeMar Bib-Pickup at Ted's Shoe and Sport
What a fun afternoon when “On The Runs” visited Keene during the Clarence DeMar Marathon race packet pick up for a live show! Thank you to Peter, KJ, KJ’s sister Lisa, Alan, Denise, Ted, Jess, & Cheryl for making our live show more entertaining than Eric & Erika could have done alone :-). Each of our guests at the mic are a mastermind behind the success of the Clarence DeMar marathon which is why you need to mark your calendar for next year’s race. The race will be on Sunday, September 26, 2027. Look for a bonus episode later this week with more from Ted's that didn't make the Live stream.
Did you see it? We didn't tell Cheryl we were LIVE to the world until the very end. What a reaction LOL!
